Requirements for the importation of animals and animal products

Do you intend to import Animals or Animal Products?

Listed below are the essential requirements for the importation of animals and animal products into Nigeria.

• Apply for import permit from the Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO);

• Notify Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) of import permit details;

• Arrange arrival date and inspection with NAQS;

• Quarantine of live animals at owners expense;

• Laboratory analysis and certification at owner's expense;

• Release of animal, seizure, or destruction by NAQS as the case may be.
